Paragon Culinary School
Located in Colorado Springs, the Paragon Culinary School is a viable alternative to more expensive culinary arts programs. Offered at only $10,000 this program is tens of thousands less than the larger schools like Le Cordon Bleu. The focus of this educational facility is on restaurant management and culinary arts only with no unnecessary extras. Upon graduation you will be prepared to assume a career as a chef, restaurant manager or other food service employee. This school teaches you the skills you'll need to be successful in this industry.
At Paragon, the school year is split into three trimesters. After each one of the three years in this program a ceremony will be held and certificates will be presented. Upon the completion of the entire program, students will gain a final certificate and qualify for the 24 hour practical Diploma de Cuisine exam. As you will learn when you investigate this school further, an ambitious student could graduate the school with up to 15 different certifications which will dazzle potential employers. No matter what your culinary interests are you can study them at this facility.
Tuition can be paid monthly, per semester or even once per year depending on your preferences. There are several scholarships you can apply for, which can help you with the cost of the program. If you need living arrangements, the Fillmore Campus is an ideal choice. These dorms feature pool and hot tub access, cable, utilities, round the clock security and convenient parking. Students must pay for their laundry, food and phone. Dorm rooms cost $695 for single occupancy and $425 for double occupancy. This is quite affordable when compared to other apartments and homes in the area.
The Paragon Culinary School is somewhat different from other schools because admissions officers work to get dedicated students into the program even if their academics aren't the strongest. The admissions process begins with an application and interview during which your goals and applicable skills will be discussed. While high SAT and ACT scores can help your cause, they are not always the deciding factor. Dedication and commitment to the craft of cuisine are very important when it comes to gaining entry into this educational institution.
